Training

Our training will be provided by a ‘Skills for Care’ endorsed learning provider and will include both on-line training and face-to-face training for all staff. Skills for Care are a trusted independent charity led by experts in leadership and workforce development for adult social care, and support employers to deliver what their clients need and what commissioners and regulators expect.

A care workers role is very complex and care workers have to be able to demonstrate a number of skills, competencies and knowledge in order to deliver quality care to the individuals they support. New staff will complete the national ‘Care Certificate’ which will equip them with the basic skills and knowledge for the role of a care worker. New staff will receive a comprehensive induction, which will include our values and mission as a service, and complete mandatory training units including safeguarding, medication, first aid, dementia awareness and infection control. Our staff will also complete further courses including End of Life, specific disease/condition training awareness courses, and will complete Covid-19 training to ensure our service delivery is as safe as possible in these times. All staff will have an ongoing training and development plan that includes annual refresher courses for mandatory training. Training will also be arranged for any extra needs that are identified through assessment for the individuals that we support.

Our care staff will also have the opportunity to receive constructive feedback, and develop their knowledge and skills through regular supervisions, six monthly appraisals, and participation in staff meetings. Staff will also have their competency assessed while they work to ensure that high standards are being consistently delivered.  Instant Homecare will ensure that we will fully support all staff and management development, always striving to improve the quality of our service for the individuals we support.

Our staff will be very much valued, appreciated and treated with dignity and respect within our service. Staff will always be listened to, encouraged to be involved in the service, along with our clients and their representatives. Staff will always have access to a senior member of the team for support and guidance.
