Palliative Care/End of Life Care

We will care for and support those individuals who are in palliative care or at end of life.  We will work with the local palliative nursing team services and GP’s to care for individuals according to their own needs and wishes. Supported individuals will have the opportunity to detail their wishes for their own end of life care according to their own preferences, in case the time comes when the individual no longer has capacity and is unable to communicate their own decisions. This document can be reviewed by the individual and updated at any time. All staff will be trained in end of life care and will treat individuals and families with the upmost dignity and respect, be compassionate, considerate and will fully respect the circumstances, providing support to the individual and family through a difficult time.

Companionship

Instant Homecare recognises how important companionship is to an individual’s general well-being and happiness and the negative effects isolation can have on a human being. It is so important for people to be able to chat and spend time with others in a social context in order to lift spirits, feel included, and maintain mental well-being, in turn improving their general health and happiness. This is so important especially in the times we are living in at present. We can arrange for a staff member to be with an individual whilst their primary carer takes a well-deserved break, knowing that their loved one will be safe and cared for whilst they are away. We are able to provide companionship for people who are isolated and have little or no contact with others.  At Instant Homecare we recognize the importance of mind stimulation with regards to well-being and we can support individuals with any hobbies or interests they may have, play games or just simply have a chat and a laugh to raise spirits.

Staff personalities, interests and experience will be matched to those of our clients’ needs and characters in order to provide an engaging, positive experience for both staff and our supported individuals. Feedback from individuals regarding suitability will be sought to ensure the best matches between the staff and the supported person.
